Entry Eight: a summary of events that occurred on February 26th, 2005 Dearest Tour Diary: We drive. We read
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell to each other. We end up in Tottenham.
We wait around for the reggae crowd to clear out of the Swan and make
way for the punk rockers. A whole bunch of hardcore bands show up and
we know that tonight will be triumphant. The importance of this event is not lost upon us. This would be our last show on the tour and our last show in the United Kingdom. We channel all of our remaining energy, both magical and physical, and create a gigantic amoeba of enlightenment and hope which descends upon the crowd. Warm and fuzzy feelings overcome the audience. Yes, book-lovin' geeks and hardcore-lovin' geeks are finally united! .
Our set concluded and a great silence enveloped the whole of England. The Queen shed a tear as wizard rock officially left her domain. Night had come and darkness was omnipresent. The cities that bore host to the Potters remember a better time - a time of abundance and plenty, a time of beauty and limitless joy. That time will return and when it does, the spirits of a nation will again be lifted by the power of wizard rock. Until then, England silently awaits. -Paul Yes, this is really
the end of our adventures. But, like a good book, you can read about us
over and over, starting with Entry 1.
P.S. this is what
England looked like after we were done rocking.
