Entry Six: a summary of events that occurred on February 24th, 2005

Dearest Tour Diary:

We got up pretty early the next day and Jim made us some egg sandwiches that had a cool British name, but I forgot it. Outside there was about 3 inches of slush on the ground. It had been snowing all night, but apparently snow doesn't ever stick around in Sheffield, it just turns into slush. So we walked around for a bit to make sure our shoes got really wet and then we picked up Jorg and Annie from the hotel they slept at. Then all 5 of us headed towards Liverpool. It was snowing and snowing and all the roads that Mapquest told us to take were closed. We finally gave in and bought a map.

This picture was from when we were in Brighton, but there wasn't a good place to fit it into the diary.

We rolled into Liverpool pretty early and didn't have much to do, so we drove around for a while giving each other a Beatles' tour of the city. We saw the archway that John Lennon was conceived beneath. We saw the harbor that Ringo skinny-dipped in (on a dare by George). We saw that street that George used to walk down, and we even saw the place where Paul had a casual conversation with some guy (you know, as if Paul was just a regular guy and not one of the Beatles or anything). It was awesome.

Once the Beatlemania subsided, we called up Kevin and he came and brought us to a really good Moroccan restaurant. We ate some delicious stuff and then walked over to the club, which was called Heavn' n Hell. We were playing in Hell! Hell was very cool and it got crazy-packed as the hour got later. Kevin's band, the Down and Outs played and they were great.

Paul and Ernie in Hell!
<<<------------------

As the Down and Outs finished, Hell grew silent and expectant. The crowd pondered what sort of redemption lay in wait as boy wizards took to the stage. Would they remain in Hell forever, or would they be justified in returning to the garden of earthly delights? We answered their queries with rock and the answer was YES! Yes, you will return triumphantly from the depths of Hell! Yes, you have overcome all adversity in life and in death! Yes, you have witnessed wizard rock for the first time and you went through Hell to see it! You are no longer a mere mortal! From now on, you will bear the glow of those who are blessed, and others will look upon you with envy because they can see in your eyes that their life in incomplete and meaningless, while yours if full of life and beauty and wonderment. Yes, it was all worth it.
