| We
now have three albums, an EP, a couple 7"s, and even a holiday thing!
This was recorded in April and May 2003 in our parents living room. Our friend Ernie played drums on a few songs. Our friend Georg did the artwork. The CD was released in June of 2003. We think it is very nice.
1. Voldemort Can't
Stop the Rock!
This was recorded in May and June of 2004 in our parent's shed. Ernie played drums again. Georg did the awesome artwork again. This album is really great. It's a little sad, but for the most part, it is triumphant. There's a lot of "sticking it to the man" on this one. Yeah! Punk rock! We like it very much.
Harry and the Potters and the Power of Love, our 3rd full length, was recorded between February and June of 2006, mostly in a house in Cambridge, MA, but also, partially, in our old high school basement and our living room. A whole of of awesome people helped out, especially Kevin (recording), Ernie (drums), Brian (bass), Juliette (cello), Jeanie (violin), Dan (mastering) and Georg (artwork). This album is, without a doubt, our best yet. Did we mention this album has strings? And tubular bells? Victory Strikes Again!
The Enchanted Ceiling
EP was released in Summer 2007 as part of the Wizard
Rock EP of the Month Club. We recorded it in March 2007 and
our idea was to try and write and record as many songs as possible in
a single weekend. Not all of these songs were actually written during
that weekend though. The song "Harry Potter" was, in fact,
written in the van on our very first tour 2004 during a drive from LA
to San Francisco. And "Rockin' at Hogwarts" was written
even earlier (October 2003) and a demo of it was included on some diskettes
that we mailed out to a few people. But mostly, this was all written
right around the time of recording. Anyway, there are 14 songs on
this and the run-time is under 14 mintues. It's fast!
The cover art was features our mascot, Wandicorn, and was drawn by our
friend Frak. This pressing was limited to 1000 copies, 750 of which
were mailed to subscribers.
Scarred For Life 7" 1. The Blood of a
Prince OUT OF PRINT
Hardcore! If you like us because we're funny, this may not be the best record for you to get. We get really conceptual on it. A lot of crummy stuff happens to Harry and if he owned a guitar and a Marshall half-stack, these might be some of the songs he would write. It's intense and really only funny in that highly conceptual sense. It features 3 songs that are exclusive to this record. We recorded these in January 2006 with Dan Brennan at Soundtrack Boston. Ernie played drums and bass. Our friend Dan McCarthy designed and silkscreened the covers. He also hand-painted the blood on the dagger! Limited edition of 1000 copies on vinyl. Yes, this is a record. It only plays on a turntable. You cannot put it on your iPod.
Split 7" with the Zambonis Potters Side OUT OF PRINT
Harry Potter and Hockey together at last! We've been friends with the Zambonis for quite some time, and it made perfect sense (at least to us) to combine forces for an extremely conceptual split 7". We recorded these in January 2006 with Dan Brennan at Soundtrack Boston. Ernie played drums and bass. James Kochalka did the artwork on these gorgeous covers. Limited edition of 600 copies on vinyl. These songs are only available here folks. Yes, this is another record. It only plays on a turntable. You cannot put it on your iPod.
This is a Holiday CD that we put together in 2005. It's got seasonal songs from some of our closest friends and enemies in the wizarding world. It features the first recorded appearance of both Draco and the Malfoys and the Whomping Willows! It was recorded in various places by various wizards and is totally awesome. This was released in relatively limited fashion in December 2005. The lovely artwork was done by our friend Dave Roman.
